A seamstress all her life — and starting again.
She learned to sew as a girl and never stopped. Over three decades the sewing table grew into a small manufacture in Belarus: a few seamstresses, a cutting table that never stayed empty, and a store in a shopping mall where people came back season after season for bags, sarafans and skirts.
Now she has started again in the United States, with a new brand and a small studio. The work is the same: patterns drafted by hand, fabric chosen by touch, every seam finished properly — the way she was taught and the way she has taught others.
The cross-stitch ornament you see across this site comes from home. The rhombus is an old Belarusian protective sign, embroidered on rushnyky — ritual towels — for centuries. She adds it to her pieces as a quiet signature.
